Costa del Sol = Costa del Golf

On the Costa del Sol, Golf has become a strength of tourism, being now a segment with its own name with continued growth. This sport is helping to capture markets that traditionally could not be reached, since tourism has been based for a long time in the sun and sand model of this place, focusing particularly on the summer months.

Currently, there are in the world more than 60 million players, a not insignificant market growing and demanding for sports facilities with quality services and destinations where the offer is more than just golf. Also, looking for places where the season is extended for many months, and in this sense the province of Malaga offers enormous advantages over other destinations because it has one of the most pleasant climates in Europe.

Malaga focuses on more than 55% of the golf courses of Andalucia and approximately 30% of the national total.
Golf lovers will find in over 40 fields that the Costa del Sol has a full range of paths, from the most technical and demanding, heterogeneous designs inspired by natural traps and challenging lakes and bunkers, wider fairways up and entertained. Furthermore, Malaga has the golf club with the largest number of holes in Europe, La Cala Resort in Mijas, it has 54. It also boasts a singular and unique journey on the European continent as La Dama de Noche, in Marbella, which as the name implies you can play at night thanks to a fantastic lighting. Another club that makes the different is the Benalmadena Golf Club, an innovative sports entertainment complex that was born with the vocation of bringing golf to the public. It has a 9 hole (par 3) and with a field of practice tee of 48 posts filled with night illumination.

Golf is no longer a sport for upper-echelon. In this regard Malaga fields include highly competitive prices, some of whom also taught practical classes and introductory courses by renowned professionals. Other clubs are specialized academies, aimed at more advanced courses, which is combined with education to use the most advanced training techniques.
The Costa del Sol, with the towns of Marbella and Mijas on the head, is the area of the province of Malaga that has more golf courses. In recent years both the East Coast and the inland areas have joined the force in this tourist segment.
