
Malaga province is "well positioned" to resolve the crisis, said today the president of the International Association of Professionals in Tourism of Malaga, 'SKAL Malaga Costa del Sol', Alberto Fernandez, who said the sector begins to see "green shoots".
Fernandez, who went to the municipality of Marbella along with industry professionals to announce the creation of the SKAL in the town, argued that England, the country's biggest emitter of passengers on the Costa del Sol, "is starting to create jobs," while added that the forecast for this year in the German market is that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grow by 4.5%, "which will give people more money and make them travel more."
Although he said that in the case of domestic market, which will be "same as last year", he insisted that "Malaga is well positioned in terms of communications, mainly due to the AVE that allows connection to cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza and Valladolid; or airport expansion, as to double its capacity. The SKAL International - founded in 1934 in Paris (France), although in Malaga was established in 1958 - is a social network of company managers that embrace tourism aimed at professional and industry associations' starting from a level Fellowship to further engage business with other countries.
